Poetry

By Eliza VargasPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

He smiled so sweetly

At the thought of her embrace

But never again

True innocence lies

In the pure heart of a soul

Lasting forever

Beauty from within

Casts a spell like no other

Love beyond compare

The night weighed on her

Darkness crept into the mind

As she sat alone

It rained all day long

To what end no one would know

Gloom continued on

She looked in the glass

And just stared in disbelief

At her own beauty

The man with no heart

Unable to feel at all

Broke when she said bye

In isolation

Where all hope seems to be lost

They both still smiled

As their fingers touched

And their hearts pounded faster

Passion grew stronger

In a single tear

Can be a thousand words felt

That will go unsaid

With softly closed eyes

She remembered the sunshine

That lit up the world
