Haiku Hymns

a collection of Haiku about (my) faith and belief

By Savannah K. WilsonPublished about a year ago Updated about a year ago 1 min read
'Hymn' - a poem of devotion or reverence

The Table

Open table, come

Bread and Blood, the broken flesh

Take these, hear God's voice

3:16

Some think ‘just for us’

But God so loved the whole world

All means all, simple

(Based on John 3:16)

Timing

Has God gone silent?

Waiting on sacred waiting

Lost without purpose

3:23

All have sinned and fall

One and all need to be saved

Ask, none out of reach

(Based on Romans 3:23)

Believe

Wash away the old

False beliefs fall like false masks

No one beyond grace

4:24

Put the new self on

Created to be like God

Not sinful to change

(Based on Ephesians 4:24)

====================================================

I think it is important to note, these are poems written from my own belief and my own interpretation of The Bible, all translation and all reading of texts such as The Bible are inherently interpretations. I in no way assume anyone believes what I do, exactly the way I do. Nor expect that they need to ... faith like much of life is a personal relationship. Whatever you believe, or don't believe ... we are all human, and we all deserve love.

"A faith not explored, discovered, and chosen for yourself ... is not faith."
