The Deadly Reception: The Consequences of a Simple Greeting

By GOWTHAM SPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

As Tom walked into the office, he felt a chill run down his spine. He couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. But he was determined to make a good impression on his new colleagues, so he pushed aside his unease and walked up to the first person he saw.

"Hi," Tom said with a smile.

The person looked up, but their face quickly turned to one of anger. "What do you want?" they snapped, their eyes narrowing.

Tom was taken aback by the harsh response, but he quickly moved on to the next person. This time, he was met with a blank stare and a dismissive wave.

As he continued around the office, Tom couldn't shake the feeling that he was being watched. He caught glimpses of people whispering and pointing in his direction.

Suddenly, he felt a hand on his shoulder. He spun around to see a man he didn't recognize, his face twisted in anger.

"What are you doing here?" the man demanded.

Tom's heart raced as he tried to explain that he was just a new employee trying to make friends. But the man wasn't having it. He grabbed Tom by the collar and pulled him into a nearby conference room.

The man locked the door behind them and pulled out a knife.

"You don't belong here," he hissed. "You're a threat to our operation."

Tom's mind raced as he tried to think of a way out. He knew he had to stay calm and keep the man talking.

But just as things were about to take a turn for the worse, a group of police officers burst into the room. They had been tipped off by one of Tom's colleagues, who had noticed the strange behavior of the man who had accosted Tom.

In the end, Tom's bravery in saying "hi" had not only alerted him to the danger he was in, but had also helped to bring the culprits to justice.
