beautiful you are

on this sacred

eve

how lovely your

abandon

i am here

let me hold you

in your dark night

let me cradle you

in this quiet death

let me

bear silent witness

to your unburdening

and together

we shall

sever

all that no longer

serves you

and send it off

in a

coffin of diamonds

then

come light

you shall see

About the Creator

Kristen Balyeat

Words fly to me on the wind, bump into me as I'm strolling the city, splash me in the face while I rest by the river, and shake me awake in the middle of the night—I’m humbly one of the vessels they use to come to life.

Also, i love you:)

    Beautiful description! I especially loved "together we shall sever all that no longer serves you and send it off in a coffin of diamonds." What a contrast in that imagery - "coffin of diamonds" - but it perfectly encapsulates the idea of the poem, the dark/light imagery and theme. Really wonderfully written. Congrats!

    Wow, this gave me goosebumps. It sounds like a mantra, the wind here is personified, a helper bringing us along on our spiritual journey. I can't believe how calm this is making me. I haven't had the chance to relax all day, I feel as though I've been holding my breath until now, I can finally breathe out. Thank you for that Kristen. This was outstanding work, poetry at its finest 👌🤗💗👏

    You have such a creative command of words, and the way you chose to string everything together gives the poem a taut, lean, and snowy cold feel. Congratulations on Top Story! It's very deserved.

    Very nice Kristen, very enjoyable. One little thing, which may be due to cultural variations, but "rung 'round" should be "wrung 'round". Keep up the good work!
