Gypped

She was like a cute little curly-headed dwarf,

a mini mother, before her time,

wise and kind,

gentle and loving.

She saw the good around her,

never wanting to impose,

always reining in her mother.

Her mother was like a loose spaghetti noodle,

that slipped out of the colander and flopped on the floor dramatically.

Her daughter just picked up the noodle,

rinsing it off and throwing it back where it belonged with the others.

All the while, she kept on cooking,

adding to the sauce of her life.

It was her usual, her normal

I felt sorry for the childhood that was being gypped from the curly-headed girl.

The imagery is unbelievable, and you’ve taken us on a tour of emotions with this one. This is well written, J 😊

    Oh
.no
. You nailed this. Begins cute and with one tiny comment and the ending set us straight! Some parents aren’t parents. Great job.

Well-wrought! Parents who won't grow up force their kids to grow up too fast, that's for sure.
