Lantern light, shining in the night,

Guide me from this cursed state.

You are not real, but the flame in my spirit.

Lead me to where I need to go,

The road with the answers to the void,

The haunted burning hunger in my soul,

The caveat that can not be filled.

Lead me to find more motivation to persevere,

Fill me with strength to find more purpose.

Anyone who has suffered loss has this lantern inside them,

Some of us give up in search of it,

Yet I summon you to shine and guide me,

To keep moving me forward, to find a way amidst the havoc,

Guide me into a way to break my routine of solitude,

Break me free of fear of unsafe streets.

Oh lantern, give me strength.

May the light of the lantern guide all our paths. A very warm poem, a plea for guidance and illumination. I liked it very much. :)

There's so much hope in this! I really hope the flame will appear to you, just as you summoned it and lights your way onward! I understand how it feels in the dark, cold and alone but you just proved you're strong enough, and you'll make it out of the bad mood. I love this line:"You are not real, but the flame in my spirit." The light is within all of us.

This piece glows with quiet determination. The way you merge external imagery with internal struggle makes the lantern feel like a living force within the soul.
