Grumpy Old Joy Riders
Oh no they are out joy riding again

Grumpy Old Joy Riders
In a car filled with silence, where smiles have flown,
Dad grips the wheel with a grumble and groan.
Mum’s in her coat, with a frown on her face,
“Why did we take this trip? It's such a dull place!”
“Can’t you drive faster?” Mum sighs with a pout,
While Dad mutters softly, “What’s it all about?”
The radio’s blaring their least favorite song,
“Can’t we just hear something that isn’t so wrong?”
They drive through the daylight with no signs of cheer,
Wishing for comforts that aren't always so near.
“Oh look, a diner!” Dad grumbles with dread,
“Last time we came here, I barely was fed.”
The ice cream they ordered has melted away,
They glance at each other, “Let’s just call it a day.”
“Remember the days when we used to have fun?”
“Those days are behind us; now we’re just done!”
So here are the two, with complaints on display,
Grumpy old joy riders, just passing the day.
Yet under those grumbles and sighs filled with woe,
They know that together, there's nowhere they won't go.
