Grief is an interesting emotion

That knocks you down no matter your devotion

To the steps of grieving

To moving forward

You always end up concealing

The pain

The tears

Because after a certain amount of time

“You should be ok now”

“You shouldn’t still be so effected”

“Move on”

But the sorrow still cuts deep

Those lost still visit you in your sleep

So many moments you wish to share

Fond memories that only cause despair

But there is no timeline on healing

No one can discount the hurt your feeling

Nothing and no one will ever replace those who were lost

But the universe will ensure that your path does cross

With those who bring back the light, the laughter, the love

That once was felt with those who now reside above
