I don’t know how to tell you
Not sure how I should say
That the day you said goodbye to me
I never went away
I’m here beside you everyday
In everything you do
In every single word you say
I’m walking right with you
My body may have left you
My spirit, it has not
You see atoms are eternal
And what a lot we’ve got
When our bodies time is up
We go right back to square one
The molecules, they perish
Atoms make another one
Im in the air, I’m out at sea
Im floating down a stream
In the flowers, the animals
I’m also in your dreams
Part of me is with you
Forever and day
Just because you cannot see me
Doesn’t mean I’ve gone away

Day 4 of Quitting
If this is how sobriety feels, maybe it’s better to go through life a little buzzed… this, along with other hits like, I want to kill myself, I wish I was dead, and I’m going to throw myself off a bridge have been the only thoughts on rotation these past few days. I promise myself that if, in a month, I still feel like this (‘this’ meaning despondent, full of rage, and simultaneously numb) I can go back to smoking. Until mid-February though? Nicotine is off the table.
