Green-Eyed Mama

A Jealous Mother

By Noire NovaPublished 3 years ago β€’ 1 min read
Green-Eyed "Mama"

With eyes that glare and lips that curl,

The mother watched her daughter twirl,

In envy of her youthful grace,

And the attention she could embrace.

She saw the men who looked her way,

And how they smiled without delay,

The daughter basked in their adoration,

While the mother felt only frustration.

For she remembered when she was young,

And all the hearts she had once won,

But now, she felt old and forgotten,

While her daughter's beauty was still begotten.

So she held onto her jealousy tight,

As it consumed her day and night,

Her daughter was the object of her ire,

And her love for her began to expire.

But little did she know, her daughter felt,

The pain her mother's jealousy dealt,

For all she wanted was her mother's love,

To cherish her as a gift from above.

Alas, the mother never saw,

The damage she had done in awe,

For in her jealousy, she had lost,

The love of her daughter at a great cost.

So let this be a warning tale,

To all the mothers who would pale,

In comparison to their daughters' beauty,

And forget the true meaning of duty.
