Never have I been as happy or free

myself I can be with you

accepting of all you are without thoughts of how they treat thee

Such openness and freedom your waters so blue

in all the world there is nothing as beautiful as you

**************************

Wrapping around the world as far as can be

with your strength, power, and destructive might

and what we do to you we don't always see

just looking at your blue hues

as we enjoy our time with thee

***************************

What wonderful things you do for us all

helping to control the seasons

winter, spring, summer, and fall

Yet some abuse you for due to man's ignorance

never realizing without you we'd be hanging on by the seat of our pants

*****************************

You are the ocean so blue and so mighty I know

a place that I'll always love and hope survives

for our grandchildren to know

nature poetry

About the Creator

Jason Ray Morton

Writing has become more important as I live with cancer. It's a therapy, it's an escape, and it's a way to do something lasting that hopefully leaves an impression.
