Great Beginnings Start in the Dark
Welcome to a New Day

The Sun retreats regally drawn
Allowing the darkness to take over
Reminisce with the soothing moon
For a promise of day’s work closer
Waiting for sleep to envelope
To bring the rest much needed
To keep arisen the hope
For a change to come in the morning
Oh, the hope is alive even in slums
For when the sky brightens again
New strength to try will be given to us
With rays of hope showing the way
If clouds come heavy with rain
That will submerge the yesterday’s pain
Nevertheless, we will try again
Even if we lost, experience was gained
Traitorous Giving up tries to creep in
Since at the end of day we still didn’t win
But as hope rushes in at night before dawn
We will throw in our net times and times more
About the Creator
Joseph June
Come, discover the true Nigeria with me
Each story is true story about my country and my people.
Being poor has double meaning.
One is to live in poverty.
The other is to live without hope and dreams.
I have hope and dreams.
Therefore I am rich.
