Consider this my silent thank you

an acknowledgment, though indirect, of how you pushed me out of our past and into my present again,

a violent shove toward my future that I needed.

Take this as a sign of closure

that the door you walked out of is permanently shut, locks changed, you can't come back in again,

a final goodbye but sincere this time.

All I owe you is this ounce of gratitude, and it is paid.

For the misery, the betrayals, the manipulation, I found my way here,

found my peace, found my person, found my healing,

and I would trade nothing for where and with who I ended up happy.
