Granny at the Window

How I chose to remember her.

By Al WrightPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Until the end we always talked

And 'fore that we often walked,

Whenever it was time to go,

There she'd be: "Granny at the Window."

When she'd want a cup of tea,

"Half a cup" it would be.

When we left, we'd all know,

There she'd be "Granny at the Window."

Throughout the year

When we could be here,

Whether there was sun or snow,

There she'd be "Granny at the Window."

And now although she may have left,

And I'm not the only one bereft,

In my heart I can stow,

The memory of "Granny at the Window."
