Grandfather Paradox on Film
What happens when time is lost between the frames

I look back,
And know that was when I began to break
Or perhaps continued
The hairline fracture growing
Word by word and second by second
And that spread into an entire year
Of nothing
Blank,
Vast,
Nothing.
Too broken a clock face
To show the time
Yet too weathered
Not to show the age
I look back, turn back
One hand over the other
But now I know what I know
Now I wouldn’t go back
Would you?
I would
No, I would
Not for you
Or even for me
Not since I can’t
And not since
Then I might kill my grandpa
And rip the fabric
Of the time, I can’t get back
To the camera shop, again
To bring film to the darkest
Of midnight and black holes
And the endless nothing, all consuming
Last year.
