As Flowers Love the Sun

And as I love too

By A poem to youPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

I love how flowers face the sun

Hopeful despite, full of promise and light

Bright smiles painted in golden rays

Each facet illuminating tacit joys

And each night, as the sun sets so

Do the flowers lose faith in the rise

Even if only after the very first night?

Is there no question in their turned buds?

No sadness in their folded petals?

For every morning glow and first dawn’s dew

Turns heads just like before

No questions or hesitations

No waiting for the break in the cloud’s illumination

Taking in every drop of glittering hue

Savoring every moment, even precious few

Oh to have faith like flowers

Always trusting in the right

Never faltering or failing or finding sleight

No biting the hand that feeds them

Never doubting the promised too

Only turning their head up to the sun

Oh to find love to love one oh so true
