Charles
Ray of light
Artist who dares
To draft paper clouds
For ancestral blue herons
Elegant Ardea Herodias
Dance on air
Climbing circular currents
Along limestone cliffs
At the end of one world
Another begins
Within your Mind Palace
Your shoulders have widened
From carrying
Trials and tribulations
Hod
Rough and heavy
Raw word blocks sit
Ready to be chiseled
Masterful masonry
In Wisdom’s temple
Thrones do not exist
Instead, at its centre
An alterocentric spoke-wheel
Sheer centrifugal force
Spins stiff spires
Of truth and justice
Into blurred, soft shadows
Multitudinous philosophies blend
Into one whirring truth
As hummingbird wings
Defy human sight
Living jewels float, aloft
Reed-like tongues lap nectar
From endless blossoms
In peak majesty
Nurtured with care
By gentle gardeners
Longing for the time
Riverbank rest is granted
Alongside Whitman
For now, here you hold
Greek council of one
Honourably ensconced
Interposing the stretch
Between concrete ghettos
And soulless suburbia
Diogenes the Cynic
In your clay jar
Searching for
Honest men
I know one
Turn inward
He is there
Already established

I also googled alterocentric... I feel silly now 😂
Hey, this poem’s got all the vibes!! Such a beautiful tribute! 💖
May I know what's anterocentric? I Googled it but it said that that's not a word 😅😅 Loved your poem!
Well-wrought, and my heart is touched! *bows deeply* Thank you!
This piece is full of vivid imagery. Reminds me of when I tried to capture a complex idea in words, using nature as a metaphor like you do here. The mix of concepts is fascinating. It's like taking different elements and creating a new, thought-provoking whole, much like some engineering projects I've worked on.
