“You won’t believe what happened the other day.”
“What happened?”
“A coworker of mine got fired.”
“Wait, what? Why?”
“She was having an affair with the bossman, and his wife found out. So, HR had to get involved, and she was not indispensable.”
“Good lord. Why do people do this?”
“No clue, but now the office is abuzz with gossipy Gerties.”
“Like what you are doing with me now?”
“Pfft, we always share work tidbits over coffee.”
“I suppose so.”
“Ha!”
“Well, things at my work are as boring as usual, so nothing juicy for you.”
“That’s okay. Maybe next time.”
“Maybe.”
