Goodbye, Old Friend.
A Poem on the Painful Decision of Euthanizing a Beloved Dog

The dog lay there, his eyes so dim,
His body frail and weak.
His master knew it was time for him
To let his dear friend sleep.
The dog had been a faithful mate,
Loyal through and through.
But now it was too late
To save him, and his master knew.
With a heavy heart and tear-filled eyes,
The master raised his hand,
And in that moment, he realized
He had to take a stand.
He whispered words of love and care,
As he gently set him free.
The dog took his last breath, and there,
His soul was finally at peace.
The master knew he did the right thing,
As he buried his friend with care.
For in the end, the mercy he did bring,
Was the greatest love he could share.

Beautiful tribute. I lost my dog Bella just last week, she was very old and had a heart condition.
I think most of us have been in the lines of this poem having to say goodbye to a friend, a companion. This was very good.
For dog lovers everywhere. This one is def for you. Well done Q. This is one of my favorites.

This brought tears to my eye, so beautiful! I just recently went through this at the beginning of February. You captured the pain, heart ache and relief so well!
