all your "i love yous" sound like goodbye
goodbye to reaching out
and finding no one there
goodbye to being alone in the darkness
feeling like I have to face it by myself
goodbye to the empty house
echoing silence when I call out
because you are now my response

Beautifully put for a sad ending. Nicely Done!!!
I am alone in my house at least 80% of the time so this one especially resonates with me. ⚡💙⚡
I love this one too! Brilliant concept with the goodbyes to all the particulars of loneliness! You're on a roll with these!
This is excellent writing. It isn't easy when things end. But this is beautifully put.
This was so poignantly beautiful. Loved your poem!
It’s poignant how "goodbye" becomes the only response, a weighty realization. Great work capturing that emotional heaviness in such a concise, impactful way.
Beautifully done!
Beautifully sad🥹… “ all your "i love yous" sound like goodbye”.
Very lovely, Alexandria. Love the last two lines
