Goodbye

He looked at me, with a mixture of pain and relief But.....

By Kesa RweyaPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

How do I say goodbye?

As tears brim within my eyes,

Your voice whispers to me,

"Darling, wipe away those tears,

They block your sight,

Robbing you of courage to face the road ahead."

Yet, how do I halt these tears,

When they fall freely,

And your presence remains absent,

No longer able to tell me that

"Darling, wipe away those tears,

They block your sight,

Robbing you of courage to face the road ahead."

My tears plead for your response,

While a white sheet embraces your body,

And my heart shatters into countless pieces,

So how do I mend my broken heart?

How do I continue on?

When you linger everywhere, yet nowhere in particular,

In silence, I hear your voice,

In a daze, your laughter warms my heart,

I see your face when I close my weary eyes,

Simply put, how do I live on in this state?
