I Will Not Be Gone

Gone

Like a Polaroid caught in a fire

Some moments can’t be recaptured

They are just gone

* * *

Like the names of unsung heroes

Some memories will be forgotten

They are just gone

* * *

Like a tune that’s never been played

Time will disappear

It is just gone

* * *

But like the oceans rising

You will not be rid of me

I am not gone

* * *

Like the Northern Lights blazing

My spirit will not fade

I will not be gone

* * *

Like an epic tale told

You will not forget me

My name will not be gone

* * *

I will not be gone

    Such a great affirmative poem, Stephanie!

    Some next level imagery in this Stephanie. Loved the resilience and just how each time you write a new poem how your skills sharpen. Great work, truly.
