look in the mirror
And what do you see
You, the plain old you
The smile you've had since the last tooth grew in
The hair on your head from birth
Created in His image
Infinite and complete
You, the ordinary you
****
Your freckles, a map meant to follow
Connect the dots
And count the time
Every wrinkle is a moment forever etched on your skin
Almost on a whim
You move your arms up to the sky
The motion is a reminder of how lucky you are
You, the simple you
***
Smaller than your mother
With your father's eyes
Gray hair, in between the brown,
a hint of strawberry to remind you of being five
You carry the legacy of your name
Every time you look in the mirror
So take a long look at you.
Plain old you.
anything but
Ordinary.

I love this. I’m reading it under a beautiful night sky, all the gods are shining down and I couldn’t help but raise my arms to the sky and feel exactly how blessed I am right this second as I read those words ❤️ Thank you
