Go Rest With Jesus

A Poem of Loss

Rest in Peace Karla, It was a pleasure having you as a friend and coauthor.

I’ll look to

The sky

And think of you

Arms wrapped around

Jesus

Free from pain

And sorrow

Remembering

A friendship

That spanned many

Yesterdays.

Your memory brings

Comfort

To friends

Distance doesn’t matter

When your bond

Transcends distance

And time.

I’ll miss our phone calls

Emails

Messages

The way you

Had with words

I’ll miss the way

You could edit

My mistakes

In a kind and gentle

Way.

But I know you

Are free

Free of Cancer

Free of pain

Free of heartache

And someday

I’ll meet you again

At Heaven’s Gate.
