Go home my son Your mission is done

mind of a madman

By Steve James LockhurstPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

I am a prisoner of my mind

sha ckled and caged like an animal

I have tried to break free

I have tried to unbind

I have tried to find the end

I have tried to unwind

but these shackles are for life

they are cold and unforgiving

the horrors I run from

but all I do is relive them

while trying to listen

my ambitions driven

by the voices in my head

tears running down my face

on my knees wishing

to find the happiness I'm missing

as I grow older

the night grows colder

its an unbearable weight

I carry on my shoulders

suffering for many

not just me

I'm drowning lord

in the deepest of seas

I try to please

but can not appease

the voices in my head

GO home my son

Get on your knees

Go home my son

your mission is done
