Glowing Eyes

Those eyes that haunt you

You know you have seen that intense stare once

Outside your house, under the flickering street lights

A fleeting glance beneath the gloomy night-

Those scary, glowing eyes.

They linger near just out of sight,

You feel them glow silently through the night.

Your breath comes to a halt, and your heart rate flies -

You can’t escape those scary, glowing eyes.

You shut your door, close the blinds,

But every light calls your name.

The mirror shakes, and the light bulb flickers-

The mirror reflects what you cannot ignore,

Those glowing eyes that peer through the door.

The mirror shows a shadow that is not there,

Just a vacant stare, where those glowing eyes start to appear.

You pray into the night, the darkness rests-

But here come those glowing eyes to protest.

They haunt your thoughts; they stalk you from afar,

You feel the burning stare, as if they are a cigar.

No color, no face, no body, no shape that lies-

Just your endless fear and those glowing eyes.

Now, every step you take, you see those glowing eyes,

The more you see them, the less you will survive.

The darkness screams, those terror cries-

You are not alone; you are always alongside those glowing eyes.

Something darts out, you scream, you fight,

Those red eyes create a blinding light.

The world suddenly goes dark, your screams silent…

No mercy from those dark, glowing eyes.
