As I sit on the express bus on the way to my favorite city

New York City

I see how sad it looks

How its not the happening city it used to be

The bus moves so fast I only catch a glimpse from the window of what it looks like outside.

I see all the stores boarded up with wood

The outside dining spread out but definitely not 6 feet apart

I see people wearing masks

I see ignorant people not wearing masks

It upsets me

You not wearing a mask

You are making the COVID-19 last longer than it is has to.

New york is in Phase 3 now. I wonder how it will go and if we will go into phase 4.

The big question is what is after phase 4?

We still need a vaccine

We still need help

You still need to wash your hands for twenty seconds

You still need to wear a mask properly covering your nose and mouth.

New York got hit really hard with this virus but it wont be stopped until we all participate in the rules and take a stand to keep following them to help each other out

I want to hug someone besides my mom

Touch my friends just their hand or hug them!

I don’t want to forget how to feel people

One of the worst things about this pandemic is that we need a hug from our friends and thats something we can’t do to protect them from the Corona Virus.

Thats what I want to see

I want to see friends and family following the rules to defend and protect one another

I want to see

Everyone wearing a mask

Everyone standing 6 feet apart

Everyone washing their hands for 20 seconds

From the window seat of the express bus

I want to catch a glimpse of the population of New York City doing better for themselves and others

So that one day we don’t have to wear masks

So we don’t have to stand 6 feet apart.

The glimpse of New York City needs to change
