What do you think of skyscrapers?
Skyscrapers rise up from the earth, splendid.
The minds that went into fashioning the
Gleaming pieces of art are intended
To spark wonder and awe when one can see.
They represent the minds that built these stems,
Sprouting from the heads of the fertile lands:
Solidified thought that remains the gems
Of the skylines that started from clean hands.
These buildings represent the self only.
Each architect envisions the true scene.
They are all alone but far from lonely.
Their minds are active and the window screen.
They peer through their mind’s eye
And feast upon the what, how, and the why.

Chanda sent home money every two weeks. In a small village in India, she deposited money into the bank account of her aunt and uncle who sent her to live in America. The place seemed so remote, almost cut off from the rest of the country. There, a festival took place where participants hurled cow eliminations at each other. The muddy, mucky sense of it had been known for centuries. Locals tied it to an ancient god who they believed restored people’s health with the cow plops. During the festival, thick patties passed through the air and smushed into the bodies and faces of those rollicking around in the filth.
