Glass Tears of Memory
What if we're alive in a memory we haven’t made yet?

What if we're already in the future,
Thinking back on this moment?
Two magnolia blossoms sprout in crisp April
Swaying, naive, to the robin's sonnet
Blind to the path unwinding ahead
Where the wind conspires to blow them free
Onto mist-cloaked streets, aglow in magenta
From a theater’s flickering marquee
The constellations danced to spell their name
The Milky Way stooped low
Took their dainty, fragile stems
To teach the braille of petals and skin
Memorized by summer's end
Tangled sheets steeped in moonlight
Galaxies twinkle and decorate the bed
They're the scattered spheres of pearl and marble
Holding glimmering tears
As oceans and mountains learned to collide
So they carve together a cave
Where time resides and breathes to life the world
In which they're meant to be
