Glass House

Poetry

By Parker KorpiPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Do you see the walls?

Be careful, they’re very fragile. Understand that if you’d like to touch

Them, use your fingertips.

Look at the ceiling, you can see the sky clear as day. Watch the clouds pass away.

Watch your step, make sure to take your shoes off. The floor will crack and erupt if you step heavily.

Do you see the furniture?

It’s painted in gold. Be careful when you touch it, the paint peels easily.

Immaculate isn’t it?

There is one single light in the house that always stays on, the light can never be turned off.

If the light left the house, the house would never shine.

Sometimes we lose the idea that the most beautiful things are the most delicate.

You see the house among the hills, it sits near one willow tree.

The house stands on its own and always has.

A glass house that can shatter but no matter what never does.
