There were notes scratched
Etched in margins
Of diary pages
The truth not written
In fluent script,
To be gazed upon
By eyes not seeing
Not willing to glance
Not willing to dig into
The uglier side
Of the coin
That was scuffed and dulled
By a constant
Tap, tap, tap
Against window glass
As the view became
Cloudier and covered
In a fog unable to remove-
As minutes ticked
And the dust settled
Glued to window pane
Without our knowledge-
A distorted view
Of the truth we believed we knew
But our knowledge was temporary
And the real events
Would create a lasting mark
Upon the world we walked
And we learned to live
With the blind intuition
We were gifted,
We learned to rip pages
And write over paragraphs-
Changing dreams to reality
And learning our nightmares
Were meant to be conquered
Not ran from.

"... our nightmares Were meant to be conquered..." so glad you never run from the nightmare of an empty page of paper or life.
