Glade Maiden

A love poem

Paddling through a river of grass,

I stumbled upon a Seminole lass,

Piercing my soul with bronze-brown eyes,

I was fearful of her beaming light.

Her untamed passion and chaotic drive

rival the power of a panther's stride

and the finesse of an Atala butterfly.

Beautifully compassionate,

she embraces me in the warmth of her silk-soft skin.

I fear no more and find my strength,

my strength to beat on through the river.

The black river is my path,

my path to her jet-black locks.

Locks that carry me through the wind,

she is everlasting peace in the end.
