The Department of Necessity states:

~

you shall surrender your temple for his physical release.

~

You shall accept his specious logic

~

as he tugs at your undergarment device.

~

The tugging at the device is an exaction of the policy,

~

and resistance shall be rejected as emotional burden.

~

Under no circumstances shall you claim the status of beauty.

~

The participant’s preference for meretricious images

~

is a fixed condition.

~

You will receive repulsive demonic indictment if you shed a tear.

~

By heart you are broken;

~

by stone you are guilty.

~

You shall be reduced to your bare bottoms

~

then be penalized for your lack of presence.

~

LIABILITY WAIVER

~

Liability waiver if you catch a disease.

~

You have chosen the wrong one but the whole race is polluted.

~

His human side only comes out when he wants a release.

~

Let him wait too long and you will be cast out on the streets.

~

Again, there will be no liability held

~

if you shed a tear

~

or share a regret.

~

You will speak and not be listened to.

~

As soon as he sees a crack or you deviate from the script,

~

you will be squeezed back into your bosom

~

and you will become the body.

~

The pixels remain inviolable

~

and the pain will not be seen.

~

Therefore, your truth will be discarded.

~

The human emanation of your voice

~

will be rebuked as though it belonged to a man.

~

Thus he will love the image of your body;

~

and he will hate the burden of the payment.

~

A/N: This piece explores something I’ve dealt with: the cold heart truth of a cheater and a gaslighter. When a person's addiction dictates the rules of a home, intimacy is no longer a choice but a mandatory service agreement. I chose the Public Notice format to show how the Department of Necessity erases the individual, leaving only the pixels and the burden behind. Thank you so much for reading if you got this far. ❤️🙏🤗

Wow. Your amazing restraint in this is what gives it so much power. To discipline your feelings and thoughts into this (with the knowledge in your note), shows remarkable authorial sovereignty. Stellar work (as usual).💖💖

This hurts to read, Caitlin. The suppression of the woman’s voice and her reduction from personhood to a body in service to male desire on demand is unjust and deeply wounding. This is an important reminder that the objectification of women comes at a steep price. Great entry to the challenge and good luck!

This is so disturbing and heavy, Caitlin, I'm glad it's all behind you. Stay healed, my friend.

I’m so sorry you went through this. Turning something so painful into art like this takes real strength.

Another unfiltered brutal bit of honest from you. As someone who sadly was a cheater of sorts and a gaslight I am still suffering from the repercussions of my actions and the impact it had on my marriage and still does because of my own addiction. So this was a hard read but a necessary and clever one..excellent approach to the challenge, my friend
