Hello! I’m so honoured to share a new poetry collection with some of my inspirational, uplifting and heartwarming poems I wrote in a variety of poetic styles. Lately, I’ve been interested in writing shorter poems, so writing these Vocal poetry collections have been ideal.

Have you been stressed out lately? Are you having relationship issues? Are you struggling with mental health issues? Did you recently lose a loved one? Or are you mainly feeling negative emotions without experiencing any major trauma? If you answer yes to all of these questions, I invite you to read and share this collection of positive poems I wrote!

1. Big (Micro poem)

By Adi Ulici on Unsplash

The bigger you mentally are,

the bigger your wishes will be!

2. Beauty (Free verse poem)

By Alice Alinari on Unsplash

Beauty doesn’t have to be shown

from the external part of you.

It can also be displayed

from the internal part of you.

People don’t just observe

the extrinsic being.

They also notice

the intrinsic being.

Makeup, high heels, hair and clothes

don’t define your glamour.

Your beliefs and conduct

define your attractiveness.

3. A Breath of Fresh Air (Micro poem)

By Joel Holland on Unsplash

Change is like taking

a breath of fresh air;

welcome it

with open arms,

inhale the fresh steam

of new beginnings!

4. Kids (Micro poem. A perfect poem for people who are parents, teachers and caregivers who are experiencing burnout.)

By Robert Collins on Unsplash

Kids are the most

ravishing seeds

one could ever plant.

They leave a heap

of glitter and sparkle

everywhere you go.

5. Buffet (Free verse)

By Benjamin Ashton on Unsplash

Like going to a buffet

of people and their thoughts,

you get a huge mouthful

or a teeny-weeny taste

of how society operates

on distinctive terms.

On your plate,

you pick and choose

what you want

to ingest and savour

or what you wish

to discard and spit out.

Same thing with people;

In your box of people

you encounter and find,

you pick and choose

what you want

to soak in and appreciate

or what you want

to repudiate and reject.

6. Diversity (Free verse)

By Priscilla Du Preez on Unsplash

Our lives will be

colourful like rainbow splashes

when we’re around people

who are novel.

Our lives will be

boring like black and white

if we’re around people

who are the same as us.

7. Gateway Drugs (Micro poem)

By Eric Muhr on Unsplash

Novels and poems

are gateway drugs

to lifelong reading.

Prayer and meditation

are gateway drugs

to healthy spiritual addiction.

8. Enjoy the Unusual (Micro poem)

By Lakerain Snake on Unsplash

Experiencing the usual

delays our abilities

to blossom and learn;

enjoy the unusual,

be adventurous

with what you eat, do,

and where you go.
