Give And Take

A Poem

Give And Take

A heart on a platter to be added to,

but it is taken apart piece by piece leaving behind bare remnants.

A soul bared open for all to see,

but it is shunned, seen as not worthy.

A true love meant to be cherished,

is only replaced by someone else just entering in the middle of the chapter.

The gives and takes have turned into transactions.

Only the buyer finds the worth behind every purchase,

the seller is a heart, soul, and love short.

Replacements don't exist,

and one can hope that things will be returned.

I have given all I am,

when do I get to have something to take?
