Ghost 2

Silent in the night

Isolation by death

Listen no more

Enter unknown

No one can hear you anymore

Eerie in its silence

***********

Memories Are Like Ghosts

They fade into the darkness

Did it happen

The bruises may fade in time.

The pain will always be there,

to remind you to protect yourself

And have healthy boundaries.

Did you really, physically hurt me?

Yes, you did!

Where did the bruises come from?

They are not a figment of my imagination

because others see it, too.

Stop the hurting and manipulation.

Set me free of these memories of abuse....

Like a ghost that hunts my memory in trauma

Blackout

Sometimes, as women, we tend to overlook all the negatives while placing the positives on a pedestal. And that isn't healthy. NOBODY should ever be hit...ever. And we should remember that!

  • Well written. I agree with Michelle. Painful memories are best left buried and forgotten

  • Painful memories should be ghosts, Mariann. Well said, my friend.
