Getting younger

Or something like that

Standing in the shadow of life

I stare at my Immortal doom

***

I feel it hit deep in my gut

Then the feelings overshadow me:

Hopelesness and Gloom.

***

It creeps up and down my spine

Reminders

Thrown in my face

***

I'm not getting any younger.

***

I see generations younger than me

Now doing adult things too

I see things I thought eternal

Fade out of the minds of the young.

***

Into a cold distant abyss

That space that reminds me daily

***

I'm not getting any younger

***

Torturing my mind on the time I've missed

Locking me up tight

Trying to break my spirit

***

But man

Truth is

I'm really not getting any younger.
