Gene Therapy

The Unnecessary Line

Painful change of face,

genetics improved.

Cut off the line,

yes, this unnecessary one.

Where have you been?

These years,

a blend of comfort and tartness,

struggle hand in hand

for a better spot in life's race,

an unrecognizable product of Western society.

These rules held me,

but

they've become a source of contention,

a constant back-and-forth.

Your agreement is met with my dissent.

It's a different kind of negotiation,

not quite reality,

but a story unfolding,

far from the facade.

What you said

might not have been heard

as closely as you believed

it would be

because our lives diverge,

stemming from different roots,

following unique paths

with destinations unlike

any

that one could measure or compare.

And yet, it exists, though not visible

for all to behold.

Only a select few, those granted

exclusive knowledge,

while the rest

are left to consume hollow power,

leading nowhere.

The undefined aim is perpetually missed,

unattainable in its frigid,

calculated final breath.
