Garden City

come on in, sit as I spin a tale

By A. Keith ClementPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

a picturesque community where snails dwell

overlaid various variations of greenery

amidst fresh fragile flourishing flowers

careful, don't step in the slime trail

behind the mayor and his wife

handsome Dale and lovely Gale

they're Giant Land Snails

steadily sliding along next to them

Martingale and Monorail adopted

twin African snails - Berail and Derail

you must know while you're here

there is something we all fear

the owner of Frenchies Bistro

Sinister Mister French Stench

and his Wicked Chef, Chaff

setting traps taking our friends

serving them in his specialty

unique garlic broiled escargot

yesterday two-families disappeared

brothers Tweed and Tweedle

there little sister Dovetail

dad Bobtail, mom Ponytail

and a group of friends

Ale, Brail, Bewail, and Borrell

none of them to be seen again

unless you ate Chaff's Specialty
