Oh, the childish games that we play
For pleasure and survival
Contemplating moves to make
The steps we take are primal
Games that stimulate the mind
Ones that entertain the senses
Just take a look around and find
Greener grass ore picket fences
When playing hard to get
Play nice and welcome tete-a-tete
One must remember etiquette
To keep from feeling ill regret
When playing for keeps
Or just playing dead
Learning new techniques
Will help you get a head
Be prepared for what comes
No matter the cost
Leave a trail of breadcrumbs
Just in case you get lost
Remember whatever you play
And wherever you go
There will soon come a day
When the player gets hosed

Congratulations on your Honourable Mention for the challenge ✅… lovely rhythm and rhyme.
never know when that day will be either
All kinds of games we play do tend to us several lessons on living our lives. Good job.
I'm with Vicki. Love the last line. Been there, done that, even in the games where I tend to excel, lol. They say, "Pride goeth before the fall," & the smirk on your face telleth all, lol. Delightful little ditty here, Kelli.
This one packs a nice little punch! Loving the creativity
The last sentence of you will get hosed was unexpected. 🌹🌹🌹🌹
This has a fun rhythm and I love the thoughts you bring out in it! Great work, Kelli!
