Bursts camouflage, encased the darkness.
Peace, finally broken;
a figure collapsed entranced by shadows.
They emerged like a riot,
piercing tears filling the darkness.
All had stopped.
Filled with electricity, drifting unconscious...
Awoken to eerily silence.
Big lettering appeared in the dreary sky:
"GAME OVER!"

This poem is derived from a story I made a few years ago, which is dear to my heart because of how much it means to me. Poetry is not my strong point, but one time during a programme I did, we did blackout poetry with some newspapers. My attempt was not that good, but I wanted to improve so for my project, I decided to take my story and turn it into blackout poetry. I am very proud of how it turned out and I hope to improve in the future.
If you would like to see the story that I used for the blackout poetry, please like and comment, that would mean a lot to me.
Thank you for reading my first publication on Vocal!

I enjoy reading and writing, as a child I loved getting lost in stories. I hope you enjoy my writing, as I try to crawl out of my shell and tell my stories to others. I appreciate all feedback as I know I have room for improvement. Enjoy!
