Frozen

The warmth we carry with us.

I see you in the Christmas lights hung along the tree

Lighting the usually dark living room with a soft glow

A Particular warmth it seems to lack the rest of the year

The shadows on the wall that slow dance as we did then

Reminding me of still nights and every breath smelling of baked cookies

Staying up late and drinking hot drinks clasped between frozen fingers

When Memories were part of our future to be made and told side by side

They say something is only truly lost when it’s memory has faded

For the gravity of love that emerged within me that Winter we met

Each year that passes, I tend to gaze into those lights for a moment

keeping that warmth alive for another cold season.

"I see you in the Christmas lights", I thought about "Stranger Things", lol. But, Your poem; is pure chills. The memories holding back, the smell of baked cookies; you painted a picture without paints but words. Also, Welcome to Vocal again after a long time ✨💕

Woah! Such a sweet, cozy vibe! The Christmas lights bringing back all those warm memories is like holding onto the best moments from past winters. Love how it keeps the warmth alive!💖
