On mushrooms’ caps, a frosty lace
A delicate design, a work of grace
Each tiny crystal sparkles bright
Reflecting a pale winter’s moonlight
*
Making their stand like ghostly trees,
Their stems like silver filigree.
Their caps adorned with jewels so rare
With a beauty that lays ones soul bare
*
Jack Frost has kissed them with his breath
And turned them into works of pristine art
A fleeting beauty here today
Tomorrow gone, like dreams at play
*
So let us gaze upon this sight
And marvel at it with delight
A moment frozen in time
A glimpse of nature that’s sublime
