I desperately wish you could stay

No matter how broken We are

You twisted my words

And turned them

Into daggers

You weaponized my art

Making me a prophet

Of my own demise

You said my stories

Changed lives

But I kept failing

The expectations

You had set for Us

I kept falling…

Slipping out of

Your arms

But surprise

When I got to the bottom

You were already gone

Surrounded by darkness

Shivering

With tears in my eyes

I finally understood

Only one of Us

Would survive

And that very day

I became my art.
