From my window

Observations made in isolation

From my window

I see parked cars

Silent playgrounds

And a deserted park

A lone cyclist

Winds down the empty street

A siren wails in the distance

And all is quiet once more

From my window

I see shuttered doors

Eyes peer nervously

Through tattered curtains

A lone dove

Glides by gracefully

A siren wails in the distance

And all is quiet once more

From my window

I hear cries

Frustrated children

Beg and plead to run

A lone airplane

Buzzes far ahead

A siren wails in the distance

And all is quiet once more
