From Across The Room, There He Stood, Looking Like A Super Hero, Right Next To His New Kawasaki
We were both in the market for a new bike to ride, and I just knew I could be a super hero too, riding my Suzuki by his side
I stopped riding at 24, when I fell off my motorcycle.
I had to go back to riding a bicycle!
Thankfully it was soft sand, and I was going slow,
as I was pregnant though, and I didn't know.
My mother said, you have two children now,
and it is time to care for them, so anyhow.
I waited until my baby was twenty-one
to get a bike, I was thinking maybe even a trike son.
Then I saw him from across the room,
and I knew I had found me a riding groom!
We hit it off by talking bikes,
he didn't like the idea of trikes.
I had a Harley fund jar,
and since I no longer went to the bar,
I had money to buy me a bike that did tricks!
He said, "I like to ride, I don't like to fix!"
So today, we both have a Yamaha.
My mother rode on the back of my bike, oh mama!
He drives a 1900 Stratoliner,
and at one time, I drove a freightliner
So you can see, I have no trouble with a 1300 V-star,
and the seat is comfy, letting me ride very far!
From across the room, he was at my favorite spot
a support meeting for recovery and what not.
We both had done our time with alcohol and drugs
And now we had years of long-term recovery to work out the bugs
We made the discovery, that it was better for us to give hugs
and not use drugs! Our seven children benefit from this today
So, I am grateful for this man from across the room every day!
