I can love you from a distance

And wish you all the happiness and abundance in the world

We need not be together

And we need not speak again

And we need not try to rekindle

What’s already been dead

Let the dead sleep in peace

As we live on from that day

I may never speak to you again, and with that I’ll be ok

Cause I gave my all, and when my all wasn’t enough

I gently closed the door

I forgive the bruises on my heart, my ego, my self esteem

And I apologize for any marks I left as I exited the scene.

I thank you for the lessons cause now I’m a different breed

I learned, I grew, I changed and evolved

I barely recognize myself

Because I never knew my worth

Now I can’t help but shine

Like this experience triggered a fuse in me

I never knew was there

So while you may never see me again,

Know for that I’ll always care.
