Time flies and I forget

How simple things were in the past

And you look back and realize

That nothing seems to last.

You meet people in your life

Each in a different way

Some of them are forever,

While others fade away.

The people who are special

And always at your side

Those people you must keep

For they’re your friends for life.

These friends know you well,

Although you don’t talk each day.

Your bond remains unbroken,

even as life gets in the at.

These friends can make you laugh,

Be a light when times look bleak

Keep a secret safe and locked,

Be your strength when you are weak.

I’m glad when I look back

On our shared times in the past,

And I’m confident and assured

“we” are one thing that will last.
