Friends among us
friendship is heartbreak
it is caring for someone so much
that their pain is reflected in you
it causes an ache in your chest
that they do not see themselves the way you do
they cannot recognize how better off you are
because they are in your life

it is breakdowns and anxiety attacks
that you no longer have to suffer alone
it's tough love and kind words
that force you to look at yourself
and try to love yourself
the way they love you

friendship breaks your heart
and puts it back together again
