If I could paint a world for you and I,
I’d paint a blueish ground and bright green sky.
The moon would luminate a field of stars.
Our sun would kiss away the peoples’ scars.
I’d paint our children dancing hand-in-hand,
their footsteps printing rainbows cross’ the land.
Our differences would leave a trail of gray,
but peace and love would stain it all away.
And if the ground was blue and sky was green,
and if we learned from all that we have seen,
we’d paint a different future me and you-
a canvas bright and kind and overdue.
